16-Year-Old Investor
In 1973, at age 16, I bought my first rental property by purchasing a home for $1,500 down and assuming the loan. I certainly wouldn’t have qualified for a loan – I wasn’t even old enough to legally sign the contract. Fortunately, no one asked my age. I sold that home when I was 21, realized a $30,000 net profit (2,000% return on investment), and purchased an apartment building.

Over the years, I continued buying multi-family residential apartments in California and Nevada.

Rebuilding Downtown Reno
In 2021, I sold all my California properties and reinvested in Downtown Reno commercial buildings.

I then started Gung-Ho Investments and Gung-Ho Management to oversee investing, buying, selling, leasing, property management, development, and construction of commercial, multi-family residential, and self-storage properties.

In 2022, I created Gung-Ho Storage to bring much needed self-storage to the rapidly growing Downtown Reno area. Gung-Ho Storage is the first and only storage in the Downtown Reno area. All the storage facilities are climate-controlled, and feature state-of-the-art construction with video surveillance, and secure 24/7 access. The first facility to open was “Mill @ Park” (560 Mill St) and more storage locations – including some with wine storage coolers and cigar storage humidors – will be opening soon. 

In 2023, I launched Gung-Ho Workspace which will be the only Class A+ co-working space in the Downtown Reno area. With a local Gung-Ho Workspace, people can walk to work where they have an onsite café, areas for networking, socializing, relaxing, and events with food, drinks, and entertainment, and feel safe with video surveillance and secure 24/7 access.

In 2024, I started Gung-Ho Hospitality then The Gung-Ho Hive to create a first-of-its-kind culmination of the finest hospitalities combined in a single location where people can enjoy fine dining, drinking, lounging, socializing, working, networking, relaxing, being entertained, and pampered in the same place, at the same time.

The Gung-Ho Hive will have its debut opening at The Montage in an open-air environment with features and amenities that include a restaurant and café with take-out and luxury room service to over 370 residential condominiums in The Montage, a wine tasting lounge with climate-controlled storage, a cigar smoking lounge with humidor storage, dog-friendly offices with Reno’s Biggest Little Dog Park across the street, a Podcast recording room, a massage room, an eyebrow and waxing room, a hair salon, mailbox and dry-cleaning drop-off and pick-up services, and adjacent parking.

Moving Forward
Today, over 50 years after I began investing in real estate, I am more passionate than ever about investing, developing, and expanding my commercial real estate holdings and their related business entities.

More importantly, I am a benevolent investor and developer with a goal for Rebuilding Downtown Reno into a clean, safe, and desirable destination for the entire family.
